NSSC and JSC Examinations

My concern is with the Head of Examinations centre in schools answer as markers for JSC and NSSC English p3 and Oshindonga p4 National Examination. I fully and personally know that National exam markers are paid. These markers are usually just personalities (teachers) who apply to mark and this is exactly the same way people apply to work in the education sector. They are already getting paid monthly salary as teachers but yet they still get paid for extra work. My question is why the head of examination for full time candidates is not paid for monitoring examinations. Knowing that the Head of Examination is always a teacher. From that particular school (exam centre), he/she still has some work to do during examination. Due to the fact that they have a heart of a Namibian child’s education, they are volunteering to control and monitor examinations.

If I were to raise my other point, I would ask why exactly English p3 and Oshindonga p4 markers are not given a portion of reward. These people work hard in order to mark the examinations hence they still have to teach other learners who are not writing National examination. Examinations are being transported to and from REXO offices or circuits by Head of Examination and /or Principal.

When a person is appointed as Head of Examination, they sign a contract. From les experience anybody who signs for a contract of a particular job, they get paid but in this regard/examination case it is not happening. Referring to the signing of contracts, people risk themselves to anything that my happen to the examination papers. They have to explain how and when it happened. So another question is still unanswered, why these people are not paid. There is nothing done to appreciate them. I truly pursue the government to provide any compensation for fuel to these people. This should be put into consideration.
